The secret in our Prophet's hadith 'Three things of this world were made dear to me': Good scent.
The prerequisite for wearing good scent is a clean body. Even the most expensive perfume applied to dirty skin smells bad. Islam's principle 'cleanliness is from faith' comes into play here too. Taking frequent baths, wearing clean clothes, and then using good scent is the behavior in accordance with the sunnah. Our Prophet would never reject a good scent gifted to him and would recommend his companions to be clean and smell good.
Wearing good scent especially on Fridays and holidays is one of the muakkad (strong) sunnahs. Refreshing scents (like Rose, Musk, Oud, Amber) that will not disturb people should be preferred when going out into society. This is a part of kindness in social life. Good scent also invites angels to that assembly. Smelling good while worshiping increases awe and prepares a person for spiritual realms.
"Have you ever thought that when you enter an environment, your scent says 'hello' before you do? Or that a scent you smell years later takes you instantly to your childhood or the holy lands? Scent is the most loyal guardian of memory. In Islamic civilization, good scent is not just an ornament, but also a spiritual state. Our Prophet (PBUH) would offer musk and amber to those who came to him, and he himself would always smell like a rose. Come, let's remember this elegant sunnah again."
Good scent is the food of the soul. It gives relief to the person, opens the mind, and spreads positive energy to those around. A Muslim should also be an example with their cleanliness and scent. A light and good scent worn when going to the mosque, hosting guests, or going to work is a sign of respect for both yourself and your environment. Let's not forget that bad smells (sweat, onion, cigarette) disturb even angels. Let your scent be a silent but effective ambassador of your character.
